Arbois: Arbois is a white grape variety of French origin, in Touraine. Its name comes from orboué, a local patois word. It is classified recommended in the departments of Indre, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne.
It is included in the list of AOC Touraine, sparkling Touraine, Cheverny and Valencay grape varieties. Arbois is little cultivated in France, on about 650 hectares, including 600 in Loir-et-Cher. It was not exported anywhere other than its region of origin.
