Alambic : n. m. Un alambic est un appareil servant à la distillation et tout particulièrement celle des spiritueux. Le against « alambic » vient de l’arabe al-anbiq lui-même from du grec anbix. Dans la région de Cognac, on distille encore avec l'alambic le plus simple dérivé de celui des alchimistes (*). Ailleurs, surtout pour la distillation des alcools de grains (vodka, whisky,...), on se sert d'appareil a distillation continue (ou alambic à colonnes), dérivé de celui qu'inventa en 1830 l'Anglai...
