White beer: White beers are beers brewed with a high proportion of malted or unmalted wheat. There are two great traditions of so-called “white” beer: in Belgium (Witbier or Tarwebier) and in Bavaria (Weizenbier).
Bavarians contain only malt and hops; the different degrees of roasting of the malt differentiate the Hell (light) and Dunkel (dark) categories. The filtered Hell category is called Kristall.
