Succulent: adj. "Succulent" is said of a fleshy plant (also called a succulent plant; wrongly because it does not contain fat), having reserves to survive in an arid environment. Example: sedums.
This kind of plant accumulates water in all or part of its tissues. These plants are generally xerophilic.
