Polypodiaceae: The Polypodiaceae (or Polypodiaceae) family includes ferns with a wide variety of shapes.
The family has around 50 genera with around 1 species. Most are epiphytes, but some species grow on the ground.
They are found in hot and humid climates, most often in forests.
The rhizome is generally horizontal and elongated. The fronds are simple, or variously cut, and rolled up like a stick in the vernal state.
