Chaméphyte: adj. A chaméphyte plant is a plant whose aerial stems have buds that persist during the winter and are located less than 50 cm in height.
According to the classification of Raunkiaer, perennial plant whose buds are located between 10 and 50 cm from the ground. These buds are protected from severe frost by the snow cover covering them in winter during periods of vegetative rest: dwarf tundra shrubs.
