Calf's ear: Calf's ear (also called red guépinie) (botanical name: guepinia helvelloides) is a coiled-shaped fungus, growing in a small tuft, measuring 5 to 15 centimeters in height having a smooth surface, orange-red in color whiter near the foot. The inner surface is paler and powdery with white spores with thick, translucent and gelatinous flesh. It is found in the mountains under conifers from August to November.
