Cabombaceae: The Cabombaceae family is a family of primitive angiosperm plants.
They are aquatic plants, rhizomatous, with submerged or floating leaves, from temperate to tropical regions (except in Europe).
According to the phylogenetic classification APG II (2003) this family is of old divergence and is not part of the true dicotyledons. The family can optionally be included in the Nymphaeaceae.
