Ono Masakichi: Ono Masakichi is a Japanese chef (Yokohama 1918 - idem 1997). He was the dean of Japanese chefs practicing French cuisine in his country.
The son of a restaurant owner from Yokohama, he came into contact with Western gastronomy very early on and, while learning the strict rules of Japanese tradition, he became a disciple of Auguste Escoffier.
