Émile Darenne: Émile Darenne is a French pastry chef (Paris 1861 -?). The son of a pastry chef, he studied brilliantly before starting an apprenticeship at the Sureau pastry shop in Paris. He then goes to the kitchen and enters the Hôtel de l'Europe in Tréport. Then came the Jockey-Club and Alexandria.
A tireless researcher, he studied food canning for the Carnet-Saussier company. It was in Versailles, where he settled in 1887, that he acquired his fame as a master pastry chef....
