Ranhofer (Charles): Charles Ranhofer is a French chef born November 7, 1836 in Saint-Denis (department of Seine-Saint-Denis), France and died October 9, 1899 in New York, United States of America. He was the chef of Delmonico's restaurant in New York from 1862 to 1876 and from 1879 to 1896.
