Caveau (le): Le Caveau was a literary, Bacchic and gastronomic society, founded in Paris in 1729 by Piron, Collé, Gallec and Crébillon fils; its bylaw stipulated that any member who was inconsiderate in the discussions should drink water.
The Cellar, dissolved in 1757, was opened again in 1796, then replaced by the Modern Cellar, which for several years published the Journal des Gourmands et des Belles, and, finally, in 1834, by a last Cellar ....
