Arcimboldo (Giuseppe): Arcimboldo or Arcimboldus (1527 Milan, Italy - 1593 idem) is a mannerist painter, famous as the author of many caricatural portraits (called in Italian ghiribizzi), suggested by juxtaposition of plants, fruits, vegetables (the paintings are organized in season), animals or cleverly arranged objects.
Van Gogh was inspired by it to make his old man in particular.
